As apartner of D2L, Flores is responsible for the implementation of the Brightspace Virtual Learning Environment at colleges and universities in the Netherlands. In Brightspace teachers and students can communicate with each other on all levels. The system supports education in the broadest sense and improves the learning, teaching and user experience for both students and teachers.
Teachers can share all information on the subjects they teach with the students. In addition to subject-specific information, students can also take virtual lessons, register for courses, share documents and take subject-related quizzes.
More and more educational institutions are now switching to Brightspace. Compared to other Learning Management Systems, Brightspace offers more possibilities to respond to current educational innovations. The wishes of teachers and students on one hand, and the possibilities of the system on the other hand, can be aligned. Kristiaan and Alex from Flores are working with Brightspace since 2016. TU Delft, Radboud University Nijmegen, Codarts Rotterdam and the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam are now among our Brightspace customers. We have provided various services, such as implementation support, training, advice, technical application management and functional management.
Kristiaan has been working on the implementation of Brightspace at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam since May 2018. As a Brightspace specialist with knowledge of the Dutch education market, he offers thorough support in resolving issues and making implementation choices. He is the kingpin between the workforce and the IT staff that configures Brightspace. Kristaan: "Every faculty of the University has its own project leader and then you have the IT department that configures the system. I find it a fun and challenging role to be the linc between them and to make the transition from demand to supply as smooth as possible. "
Alex is responsible for the functional management of Brightspace for the Faculty of Health and Sports. He answers questions from teachers and makes improvements to the system based on their experiences. Alex also worked at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam as Brightspace technical application manager for the central IT staff. However, his support does not end there. He also gives teachers training courses about how to use the system.
An increasing number of educational institutions are making the switch to Brightspace. Compared to other Virtual Learning Management Systems, Brightspace offers more possibilities to respond to current educational innovations.
The wishes of teachers and students and the possibilities of the system can be aligned.
From September 2019 all teachers and students of the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam will use Brightspace. View this video in which ALO teacher Huib van de Kop introduces his students to the digital learning environment.
